Hello! I’m Syneva.
(It rhymes with “Geneva”!)
I’m a performer, composer and educator dividing my energies between the worlds of classical and popular music. I am the Teaching Assistant Professor of Cello and String Education at Kansas State University.
I am the co-owner of Corwin Music Publishing, a catalogue of contemporary string ensemble music for performers and educators. I composed original scores for the documentaries By Walking (2025) and Huan Dao (2016), and have created string parts for dozens of commercial albums (here’s a personal favorite.)
I find great joy in making music accessible to communities of all ages. I am the director of the String Academy at K-State, a teacher training program, and previously served as a Teaching Artist with the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program. From 2020 to 2021 I served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Collington Life Plan Community, for a memorable season of intergenerational living and collaboration.
